These are illustrations I did in partnership with non-profit organizations in Myanmar and the UK. The goal was to visualize collective stories of resistance, protest and survival - whether that's against a military coup in Myanmar or Syrian refugees trying to make a new life in the UK.
Each picture tells a different story; of endurance, resilience or the challenges many people face in unique circumstances around the world. I find illustration can be a powerful tool in communicating complex scenarios in the absence of photos while keeping people's identities confidential. Many of these stories were based on first hand testimony or interviews.
